Finals night at the Te Atatu Peninsula Bowling Club’s Business House Bowls tournament is traditionally a themed event and this year’s years theme was “Italian”. with the teams creating some very imaginative costumes.
It was a great result for the “Girls teams” this year with the Go Girls (Pizza Slices) taking out the top spot on the ladder on count-back from Sally’s Girls (Pizza and Pasta). Both teams showing huge improvement from previous seasons, a real achievement as both teams were made entirely of non-bowlers.
To cap off a great night for the Go Girls, they also took out the best costume prize as well. Close contenders were the Vision 83 (Italian Mafia), Sally’s Girls (Pizza and Pasta), Brightside (Italian Soccer) and Team Total (Spaghetti and pasta). Unfortunately even Rocky couldn’t save Team Tokerau from defeat.
Te Atatu Peninsular Bowling Club’s Business House Bowls tournament has been running now for 6 years now and is becoming one of the highlights of the season, running for 6 weeks over February and March. The competition is sponsored by local Accountant, Tina Payne who has been a regular participant and supporter of the event since the very beginning. There is a great vibe and Family atmosphere around this event which seems assured to continue on for some years yet
