Auckland Secondary Schools Pairs Boys Champions, David Allan & Jack Sandelin of Auckland Grammar School.

Auckland Secondary Schools Pairs Girls Champions, Krychelle Espinosa & Danya Gates of St Dominics

On Monday Auckland Bowls had the pleasure of hosting over 120 students from 10 Schools for the Greater Auckland Secondary School Pairs.

We had perfect weather for this event and the students arrived fit and rearing to go. Our young bowlers ranged in experience from relative beginners to seasoned pros – but all played with determination for the win.

Our Girls Tournament was won by St Dominics Krychelle Espinosa and Dayna Gates over Diocesan’s Lucia Young and Madeleine Waters and the Boys David Allan and Jack Sandelin – Auckland Grammar over Paul Beyer, Nick James – Mt Albert.

Fabulous finals, so close as you would expect at this level– all teams should be very proud. Thanks to all the Teachers, Sports Directors, Coaches, Parents and Supporters.

Thanks to Remuera Bowling Club for hosting two greens of Section play in the morning and to Headquarters Carlton Cornwall for hosting Section Play, Post-Section and Finals. Special thanks to our amazing helpers on the day Janine Young, Les Smith, Christine Sibley, Joanne and Allan Williamson, Steve Clifton and Graeme Clisby – supporting our future stars!

Thanks to Paul Tuckley for the great photo’s – See more of the day on the Auckland Bowls Facebook Page.

We look forward to seeing these future stars at the National Secondary Schools Championships on the 26th & 27th March 2019.
