What a great way to start the Representative Season, for all our squads that competed against Bay of Plenty, Northland and host North Harbour in The Quadrangular Tournament on Sunday 6th October! Our “One Team” philosophy and culture proving very evident both on and off the greens. As General Manager of Auckland Bowls, I was delighted with the attitudes and discipline of all players.
I would like to congratulate all the players, selectors and management team on a very professional display.
In the overall combined totals, we won all three divisions of Open Men, Open Women and Men’s and Women’s 1-5 Year, which is an outstanding result. I personally watched our teams at all three venues and there were great bowls played, especially as conditions were tricky and it was the first time for many this season, playing on natural greens. The most impressive observation for me was the “Team Camaraderie” displayed by all, which fits so well with the values of Auckland Bowls.
I would also like to thank Bowls North Harbour, Browns Bay Bowling Club, Mairangi Bay Bowling Club and Sunnybrae Bowling Club for your wonderful hospitality and all the markers, umpires and volunteers that made this day run so smoothly.
We look forward to hosting North Harbour on Sunday 1st December for our annual “Battle of the Bridge” tournament at a venue to be confirmed.
