It was a good day for the Auckland Men and Women at the National Intercentre in Christchurch. Played in cold and wet conditions three of the five qualifying rounds have been completed.
The Auckland Women have had a very successful day with 8 wins from 9 games to lead Section Two with 24 points. Counties Manukau sit in second place with 18 points, followed by Taranaki and Wairarapa on 12 points.
The Men found the going slightly more difficult but still won 6 of 9 games to be placed handily going into the final two rounds tomorrow. Southland lead the Section on 21 points, with Auckland in second on 18 points, followed by Marlborough on 13 and Wanganui on 12.
The top two sides from each section qualify for the quarterfinals.
